NSW: Woman killed in road accident near Gundagai

SYDNEY, Sept 6 AAP - A woman was killed today when a runaway prime-mover trailer hit
with her car in southern NSW.

The woman, whose age is unknown, died instantly in the crash, which happened on the
Hume Highway near Gundagai about 10.40am (AEST), police said.

The trailer, which was carrying a car, became unhooked from the prime mover before
slamming into the woman's oncoming car.

Police will interview the prime-mover driver as part of their investigation.

Vic: Man dead after trailer hits car

A man has died when a runaway trailer hit his car, forcing him off the road and into
trees in Melbourne's south-east.

Police say a trailer was being towed north along Belgrave-Hallam Road at Narre Warren
East when it detached from the car and collided with the dead man's southbound car about
3pm (AEST) yesterday.

A police spokesman says the male driver, aged in his 20s, died when his car ran off
the road and crashed into trees.

The driver of the second car suffered minor injuries.

The man's death bring the Victorian road toll to 207, compared to 208 at the same time last year.

A woman has died in a collision between her car and a runaway trailer in southern New
South Wales.

Police say the woman, whose age is unknown, was killed instantly when the trailer hit
her car on the Hume Highway near Gundagai this morning.

The trailer, which was loaded with a car, became unhooked from the vehicle towing it
about 10.40am (AEST).

Runaway trailer kills man

A driver has died after a runaway trailer hit his car, causing him to run off the road and into trees in Melbourne's south-east.

Police said a trailer was being towed north along Belgrave-Hallam Road at Narre Warren East when it became detached from the car and collided with a car travelling south about 3pm (AEST).

A police spokesman said the male driver, aged in his 20s, died when his car ran off the road and crashed into trees.
